Overall amazing holidays in Lupita. Hotel itself is 10 minutes away from the beach (bus every 30 minutes). Amazing entertainment at night very friendly staff. Great variety of fresh food for being vegetarian, also for meat/fish esters. Fruits juices are fresh. Best cocktails made of fresh fruits(favourite passion fruit margaritas). Lupita beach club serves everything you need to stay all day by the beach. Rooms are roomy and cleaned every day. If they could invest a little on the new bath towels and bed sheets would be a dream. Also important Lupita hotel it’s surrounded with nature, green but mostly quiet place.

Nice vacation at the Riu Lupita in Jan 2026. Check in was simple (after midnight so no line up) as was checkout (we were given a space to store luggage and a shower space as flight was late in the day). Everything we needed was around the main pool. The beach is a short ride away which is serviced by a resort bus all day long (we are mai ly pool people). We ate mainly at the buffet with many choices and were happy. The Italian a la carte was fine and had a great salmon. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The resprt served all of our needs. 2 negatives were the coffee in the buffet was not good (at the main bar it was awesome) a d the coatis (too many roaming and although generally harmless they become annoying. We suggest some high frequency units).

Great location, it's just not on the beach. They do have free shuttle service to the beach. They also have their all inclusive snack bar at the beach. Overall it is a quality place with great service. It is on the smaller side for all inclusive which is nice because it is much more peaceful and quiet. There are less food options than bigger resorts is the only less desirable thing about Riu Lupita.

Riu Lupita is a very beautiful place! Its location is ideal, and the hotel shuttle to the private beach is only 15 minutes away. It is a real advantage to have this shuttle because along the way you can also access 5th Avenue (an endless pedestrian street with restaurants, shops, the ferry to Cozumel Island, a church, etc.) to shop and explore more. As for the hotel itself, the services and activities offered make for a wonderful stay. The main restaurant, Adelita, was our favorite (very varied food), but we also had the option of choosing among five other restaurants and bars at the hotel. The staff is very friendly and pleasant, except for one receptionist whom we feel it is important to mention. She was atrocious, unpleasant, unhelpful, and dishonest from the beginning to the end of our stay. Unfortunately, we do not know her name, but she has many piercings and tattoos and a split tongue. She was the only downside of our entire stay (a real viper’s tongue). There is a Sunwing representative, Eduardo, present at the hotel every weekday. He is a pleasant person, very attentive, and helpful in offering excursions as well as advising us on possible visits. Riu Lupita is a wonderful place to discover Playa del Carmen—a peaceful, friendly, and family-oriented resort. We chose Riu Lupita to celebrate our 20 years as a couple, and we were very satisfied, even though the hotel, despite our request, did not make any gesture to highlight the occasion.

I have stayed here twice and I highly recommend it. The cleaning service is excellent. The buffet is really good and there are plenty of space to be at the pool. Bus to the beach is punctual and there are plenty staff is great. The Friday parties are fun and the vibe is really cool. The only bad thing I would add is the wild animals that got used to being fed by the guests and now there are too many around the pool stealing food or grabbing the glasses. It only happens in the big pool but it’s a bit annoying. Also I have seen them in the balconies of the rooms on floor 0 grabbing clothes or whatever people left outside. Except that, the rest is pretty good!

Our overall experience at the hotel was great. All staff are friendly, attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are great. Cleaned and tidied daily and had sufficient clothing storage and comfort. The fridge, mini bar and air con were all included. The pools with complimentary towels were ideal for entertainment or peaceful sunbathing. The daily shuttle bus offered the option of visiting the beach which has the excellent bar/restaurant available by the sea, meaning you didn't have to return to the hotel for meals. The evening entertainment was varied and catered for all tastes. The main restaurant was excellent for breakfast and lunch. Our only negative was the in the evening there was too much food choice and variety with little in our ten nights that actually wowed us. For us, a better option would be for the hotel to consider themed meal nights - Mexican, Chinese, Indian, English, American etc. You still retain variety but can concentrate more on quality. This was our first visit to Mexico. We loved every minute and would certainly come again.

Most staff are very helpful and friendly but found the bar staff sometimes not so good. Probably due to pressure but we sometimes found it difficult to attract their attention as they seemed to busy dealing with the more rowdy visitors. Other than that rest of staff brilliant. The rooms aren't for relaxing as there is no soft chairs or a settee despite there being enough room. Glad there was an "adult" pool as it was sometime noisy around main one due to music etc. The shuttle bus was very good to get to beach and drivers, again very friendly. Wish there was somewhere else close by to walk to though. We did walk to beach a few days (3miles) and got bus back. Beach lovely and sea very clean. Food really good with lots of selection. We also used the Mexican, Italian and Steakhouse while we were there. Took us4 attempts to book steakhouse as had to q at 7am and was fully booked by 10 past. The entertainment team did their best to involve everyone. In hindsight we would have preferred a beach location with more comfortable rooms with more "quiet" areas and somewhere to walk to.

Resort is very nice. Just what we were looking for. Quiet and clean, staff are excellent and the food is so good. This resort is not on the beach but the bus runs continuously and is easy. Beach area has lots of chairs and the bar and food at the private beach area is great. My only negative is the bed we had was old and hard.
